Talk:Cowboy Bebop: Space Cowboy

From Cowboy Bebop: Space Cowboy

As far as sections go those are good ideas, I also think that to help newbs (like me :D) we should have all the help files in a wiki for access, or more help files in the mud. It might just be me but for some reason its somewhat difficult to find help files I am looking for in the mud :P --Seth Any ideas for sections? Here's a few. About, Setting, History (of the mud). This might include notes about notable players. ... And some other stuff. Think up some kick ass stuff guys! --Funf 20:47, 30 December 2005 (CST)

Discussion

Thissdfsdf is sort of in general. I think we're getting too unorganized. People are signing and making comments on pages, rather than the discussion page. Comments should be kept on discussion pages, and content on the page. Just a thought.--Zeno 14:58, 29 January 2006 (CST)

Hi I'm new to the mud, and I'd like to play (but noticed no one was on), might I suggest that if IMMs aren't going to be active, you remove the auth system? In theory, this would allow for a playerbase to form without imms having to even do anything. But maybe this is a dead mud, I dunno...

Java client

how's about a Java script? I have someone who wants to play, but doesn't have telnet.

Mudmagic has a java client, perhaps I'll grab a link to that when I get a free moment at home. --Shaikoten 09:38, 7 March 2006 (CST)
Careful, it's a broken client. One thing is it fails to display dark gray (&z). --Zeno 20:30, 7 March 2006 (CST)
Perhaps Mudconnector's then? Not sure, I can't check it right now. If someone provides a link today I'll paste it in. --Shaikoten 07:51, 8 March 2006 (CST)
Erm, Mudconnector's client also fails to display dark grey... It really isn't that horrible of a handicap on either though, mudconnector's exact link is [1] (the URL is case sensitive) --Tiak 14:05, 9 March 2006 (CST)
Unfortunately, due to the color layout I chose very early on in the game's development, &z is heavily used, so it IS a pretty bad handicap. We'll just have to MAKE OUR OWN CLIENT, amirite? Too bad no one uses that bizzare off-purple color that the Mac client, Rapscallion used. --Shaikoten 14:48, 9 March 2006 (CST)
  • Anyone know if either of those Java clients are open source? If so, I'm sure we could fix it ourself. --72.228.14.47 17:28, 9 March 2006 (CST)
    • I think that their current site is [2] so feel free to check that out... There is a source download available but not sure exactly what it is/haven't had time to check it out. The specific mudconnect/Mudmagic ones are customized for their specific use though... But anyway, good luck *coughs* --24.23.204.224 23:05, 9 March 2006 (CST)
      • Well, I don't think any of the current Devs for the mud's code have much time to tackle this sort of thing, but drop me a line if anyone wants to do this themselves, it's something I'd definitely like to incorporate if possible. --Shaikoten 08:07, 10 March 2006 (CST)

Information

Since everyone's kinda posting the ideas here, I guess this is where mine go too. It'd be really nice to have a little more information when examining items. There doesn't seem to be a way to tell exactly what an item is until it's been toyed with a bit. What'd be great is just a teeny bit more output. Even something quick and dirty like...

Upon closer examination, you see that: Type: Rifle Uses: box of rifle ammo [20 Made by: Nell Material: titanium This item can be dual wielded. This item cannot be sold.

Or maybe.. Upon closer examination, you see that: Type: Armor Uses: legs Made by: (npc) Material: denim This item currently costs X wulongs to repair.

I think I sorta understand the desire to keep aspects of an item's quality invisible though. That I can deal with. Just random thoughts.

Actually, Nell, ideas like that go in the Brainstorming page. --Shaikoten 13:31, 16 March 2006 (CST)

Hey guys, can we get a voting link on here? Here it is: http://mudconnect.com/mud-bin/vote_rank.cgi?mud=Cowboy+Bebop:+Space+Cowboy Something like that would be awesome. --Funf 23:58, 10 September 2006 (CDT)
