A feared and powerful businessman, Simon Richards is a consultant of the Red Dragon Sydnicate. He resides on Mars, with Nathyrra, and was previously married to Krystalia Richards, with one child, Damien Richards. Simon is very much a recluse, usually only coming out of his chambers when action needs to be taken.

Early History
Born on a tiny, ethnically British mining colony outside of the major cities of Mars, Simon Richard's early existance was one of soot and grime. His education was very lax, and his family, while loving, didn't see the sense in their son getting well educated. He was raised to live--and die--in this mining colony, taking care of his family.
Although his family tried hard to dissuade him from an academic career, Simon was taught to read at an early age, his parents encouraging him to take up the Bible. Though he quickly discarded the Bible as foolish, his developing literary skills came in quite handy on the SSW, and while reading into his British heratige.
He became enthralled by tales of the massive British empire, which at one point ruled over most of the Earth. High society fascinated him, and the works of great minds from his home country inspired him to strive for something more than mining.
Pre-RDS
As he neared adulthood, Simon quietly slipped out of his home, knowing his new lifestyle would not be approved of. His plans were to become a writer, initially, but as he struggled in the cities of Mars, he eventually turned into a petty criminal to pay the bills.
He tried stealing ships, smuggling goods, extorting money, and other shady activities, but he was met with resistance in most cases. The majority of organizations were paying protection to large syndicates.
As he honed his fighting skills, Simon took up boxing, among other underground, illegal fighting--and betting on fights, on the side. While he was skilled, he was never outgoing enough in his endevours to make very much money, and invariably lost what little he had betting on fights. He decided to turn to a Syndicate to advance his "career."
RDS
Simon was initially inducted into the Red Dragon Syndicate by Gunny. Now that he was working with support, he found he could make quite a profit. Following several successful robberies, assasinations, and other dirty jobs, he was appointed to the rank of an officer. When Gunny retired and left the syndicate, he left Simon in the position of leader, with the confirmation of Spike Spiegel.
Simon led RDS ruthlessly, and did away with several of the members he deemed less effective. This strategy ended up proving to be very effective, and RDS began dominating the galaxy. Under Simon's rule, it was extremely common for every planet in the solar system to be under RDS control.
Eventually, Simon got married to Krystalia, who was originally of ISSP. Krystalia joined RDS with him and they fought side by side. Simon eventually stepped down to live a more relaxed and comfortable life, with the loads of money he made during the leadership of the syndicate and his wife. They settled down, had a child (named Damien,) and continued to work with the syndicate on the side. Krystalia eventually became leader for a while, before ceeding power to Ben.
After the syndicate's conversion to communism, and communism's subsequent collapse, Simon was once again elected leader of RDS again by his peers. He occupied the position for a short duration, but let Ben take control again, preferring a more behind the scenes role with less paperwork. A giant shift in the syndicate occured when his marital issues with Krystalia came to a head and they divorced. He became very close with Katya and Nathyrra, both of whom joined RDS with a large influx of members. He took up a leadership position with enormous amount of backing from within the clan and currently occupies the position, with Dorian his first officer, and Simon's current love, Nathyrra, occupying the position of second.
Personality Profile
Simon has changed a great deal from his formative and "golden years" in RDS, transitioning from a brutal, violent personality to a disturbingly calm and calculating person, viewed by very many as manipulative and controlling. His friendliness is unnerving, and he is known for giving advice and chunks of wisdom to almost everyone he talks to. He's also developed a reputation as something of a ladies man, be it true or false, and has a ridiculously overdeveloped ego.
