Session 12: Jupiter Jazz (Part One)
- Origin of Name: This title comes from a song of the same name written by a band named Underground Resistance, a Detroit-based Techno Band.
The first two-part session of Cowboy Bebop, Jupiter Jazz (Part One) takes Spike's rivalry with Vicious to a new level. Catching a hint that his lost love Julia might be on the frozen wasteland of Callisto, Spike takes off only to ensnared in a trap by Vicious. Meanwhile, Faye meets the mysterious Gren, an old war buddy of Vicious from the Titan War.
Session 13: Jupiter Jazz (Part Two)

The conclusion of this two part episode, Jupiter Jazz (Part Two) picks up where the previous session left off: with Spike presumed dead on Callisto and Faye being found all tied up by Jet. Spike wakes up and realizes he was shot with a tranquilizer dart. While Spike prepares for another assault on Vicious, Gren begins to make the deal Vicious came to him for. Both former comrades sense betrayal, and in the end Spike and Gren get into a dogfight with Vicious. Gren is slain and Vicious escapes, but still more of the past between he and Spike is revealed.

Setting out separately to gain a 12 million wulong bounty, Faye, Spike and Jet capture 20 culprits, but none of them is the mastermind being sought by the Gate Corporation. Charged with finding the true Mastermind behind the plot involving the gates, Spike and company travel to a scrap yard to confront Chess Master Hex, a former developer on the Phase Gates.
Session 15: My Funny Valentine
- Origin of Name: This title references the song of the same name, My Funny Valentine, written and performed by Frank Sinatra
While Jet is out catching a bounty, Faye reminisces about her past, or lack thereof. When Jet returns with the bounty, Faye recognizes him as a lost love from her past who she thought had died and left her with debt. Running off with him to find the answers to her past, Faye leaves the Bebop and flies into space, only to find the doctor to whom she owes her debt. He is after the bounty too, who apparently is his nephew. Spurned by the many lies, Faye turns the bounty head in and deprts for the Bebop.
