From Cowboy Bebop: Space Cowboy

SCRATCH was a cult founded by a Doctor Londes. The funny thing about him was that no one ever saw him in person. SCRATCH was causing great harm as it was a suicide cult. For that, Londes had a bounty. Eventually it was figured out that Londes was a virtual creation made by a boy named Ronny Spangen who was comatose but still connected to the internet for some reason. Jet Black and Ed located him, went to his sick bed, and physically disconnected him from the internet, erasing Londes.
