GLM
GLM, or the Galactic League of Merchants, is a group created by the ISSP to
assure the sufficient education and growth of suitable engineers
throughout the galaxy that may collaborate for the betterment of the solar
system. Similar to RBH, they aren't an official part of the ISSP, and yet
they still were created, and in theory could be disbanded by them if they
saw the need to do so. They were created in response to the great
catastrophy which destroyed the ISSP recreational casino ship, Jubilee.
Reports of engineering problems causing the ship's destruction lead to
ISSP forming the group of engineers so an incident like that would never
happen again.
Members of the GLM recieve discounted prices in purchasing their
engineering expenses, as well as learning to understand construction
processes more quickly from their own concentration on the subject and
from the insight that their combrads may provide them. In turn, they're
discouraged from taking time from their concentrated engineering studies
to pursue feuds, and tend to pay less attention to these fights because of
it, learning less. Lastly, upon abandoning your skilled bretheren, you
lose the insight their unspoken knowledge provided you, losing some of the
skill you formerly possessed.
