BOTTING
Botting is the nickname of setting a Bot, or Robot to run one's character.
It is done with the use of triggers, which most MUD clients support and
arguably aliases to a certain extent. Setting these up to run one's
character whilst one is not attentively watching the MUD's screen is
considered Botting. Simply being at the computer is not enough, literally
watching the screen with no other screens above it, ie an Instant
Messenger program or e-mail etc. Botting is illegal in Cowboy Bebop:
Space Cowboy and punishable in strict means. Generally the punishment will
reflect how the player was botting. Lose of stats, wulongs or even skills
is possible. Immortals may check on players occasionally to see if they
are botting, and if they are usually give a roughly ten seconds or so to
respond before punishment. If the player is spamming, or lagging badly
they are advised to not use commands in at a high rate because to a
checking Immortal it looks like botting and the punishment will not be
changed or revoked. Also, if one is triggering a command which has a lot
of spam (ie fills up the screen) or blends in with says or otells then it
is advised to also go slow because that can be mistaken as botting aswell.
Ignorance about any rules is never any acceptable way out of punishment.
Here at Cowboy Bebop: Space Cowboy we allow limited use of triggers and
aliases, however, when they start running you character then it becomes
illegal and punishable. We run a game for players who play the game, not
MUD clients with triggers. Health advisorty: Botting while stattraining
will result in loss of stats. Mulpile offenders may even be set to 3
permanently.
