Basics Of Combat
Combat is something that every good player must take part in at some point. The combat system is set up with first focusing on your opponent and then craying out what ever command you would like. To start off in the noobie arena you should try a few fights with the boxer because he starts with about 300 health with the same gains as harder mobs(non player characters) outside.
In CB:SC the commands to start a fight are different from many other MUDs. In order to chose a target, someone you wish to attack, you must first type "focus (target)", to direct your attention to that target and point you weapons at them. Then, in order to attack you must use an attack skill, either "attack" or another maneuver of some kind.
Weapon Specialization
When engaging in combat you will find yourself missing allot this is due to the fact that you know nothing at this point. First you choose a type of weapon that you are going to use(it doesn't really matter you can master them all) and train that type of weapon at a train or from a player who is adept at it.(common trainers you will meet at the start are Kim, old space dude at dayton spaceport, and dude in boxers room in academy) Your skill will start off around 20% from a trainer since weapon specialization is passive it levels when in combat. Too do this just focus an opponent and start to attack.
Combat Moves
During combat, it is possible to engage in other maneuvers than just attack. The first two skills you will most likely encounter are punch and kick. While seeming weak, these moves have a higher rate of hitting mobs when mastered. Common combat skills that most people use are circle and backstab; they increase effectiveness of knives. Most people overlook the basic combat moves like punch and kick, but they are useful later when you want to toy with your victims or have fun mocking people.
Combat Attack Skills
In the game there are also skills that allow you to attack with multiple weapons and multiple times in a round. These skills are Dual Wield and Second and Third attack, while these skills are the best combat skills too improve your proficiency in combat. The only draw back to these skills is it is random how many attacks you get in a round based on % mastered and luck as well as these skills still are based on your own accuracy so you should also work on limber and heighten accuracy which raise dexterity and how often you hit.
